Very sad

I've really been enjoying ijournal lately. Great interface. However, it recently unexpectedly quit on me and it didn't autosave like I have the preferences set in the menu (auto save every minute). Any clue how I can recover my lost text? Or is it impossible??

That is odd. You could try pasting the following into the Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities) and it will dump whatever iJournal did have saved (not an elegant solution but a quick one):
defaults read com.warped.iJournal "User state dictionaries" (hit enter after pasting)

Of course, if you used iJournal to post this after you lost the other, it would have been over-written by this post. What version is this?

Yeah... that didn't work at all. Here's what it spit back at me:

PowerMac:~ Whitney$ defaults read com.warped.iJournal "User state dictionaries" 2006-11-11 01:30:18.640 defaults[17245]
The domain/default pair of (com.warped.iJournal, User state dictionaries) does not exist

What is the iJournal version? That key missing would usually imply that the program hadn't been run before (by that user, at least).

It's running the most current version.

The same thing happened to me, and the Terminal command line spat back out the same response. In my case, I *DID* have Auto-Save set, but the folder 'iJournal' wasn't created, and if it did save, I don't know where to, or using what file name.

iJournal has crashed on me several times already today; it's getting especially frustrating. For some reason, one particular account seems to make it go batty (it keeps trying to load the Friend's List, and the user icon is always extremely small).

I had a similar problem as the OP, and also tried using the command above, but got the same response. I'm running version 1.77. :(
