mysql access?

I'm curious about notes on the project page saying that ijournal is soon going to serve more than just livejournal. Any more specifics on this? My goal is to build a blog site from scratch in php/mysql, but to be able to post to it with ijournal. Any idea whether this will be possible one day?

i was always thinking it'd serve a purpose that it could connect to the infamous dead journal and some of the other journal types out there like diaryland and such.

What if the connectivity to specific journaling systems was in a plugin module, so people could write as many as useful?

Ga-roovy. Have any of the existing developers talked about doing a mysql module for it? PHP is about as deep as my programming abilities go, unfortunately.
