A few things
A couple of things:

- The lj-cut sheet. While I appreciate it in that it means I no longer have to type out {/lj-cut}, I frequently use lj-cuts for more than what it seems will fit in that little box. Things like surveys, etc. that take up much more space. It's true that there are workarounds (such as just doing it by hand, etc.), but that box looks... imposing. :\ Maybe other users can elaborate.

- If you actually do use the lj-cut sheet and put in some hidden text, the ending tag comes out as {/ljcut} instead of {/lj-cut} (with < and > for { and }, naturally).

- The community tag. It's great that it has finally arrived! :D However, in the drop down list, I also see my friends. I don't know if you can change this so that it only lists communities that I'm actually in - it seems like iJournal just picks up the list of usernames that we have listed in our friends list - but in any event, it's just a small thing. It picks up all the communities I'm in regardless. :)

- Thanks for getting the release out relatively soon after iTunes 3!

Re: A few things
You should be able to put as much text as you want into the box in the cut sheet.

You can also type your entire entry into the regular text editing window, highlight what you want to cut, and then select "Make Cut" and type in the text to show up in the cut tag; this will just add the cut around what you'd already typed.

As for the "/ljcut", that was a typo on my part; sorry. I'm not sure how I missed that, since in testing I created an entry with 4 cuts and they all showed up fine; I'd expect that the first one should have killed the other 3.

Um, I can't seem to open the package contents (I want to change the icon). Is this just a regular problem, or am I doing something wrong?

changing the icon
Did it turn into the default "A" application icon for you, too? Just hit info (Cmd-I) on the iJournal icon in the mounted partition, copy the icon from there (Cmd-C), then hit info on your hard drive's copy of the app, and paste (Cmd-V) the right icon in from the mounted copy.

Anyone know why that's happening when we copy the app? It usually takes the icon with it... but not today?

Re: changing the icon
I didn't get a default icon. The reason I want to do it through the package contents is that I usually can't get it to change otehrwise.

For whatever reason, the background image isn't showing up for me. Also, it's a visible file in the mounted disk image. Other disk images with backgrounds I've downloaded recently, when remounted, seem to work fine. Odd. I'm not sure if this is isolated or not. I am glad that you are trying to put a background image to give some instruction as to what to do with the application in the disk image, hopefully a few less people will be so very confused about it. :) I wish I had/knew more specifics on how this worked, anyway.

As far as the actual background itself.. it looks pretty bland, if you have any good ideas for a background but don't have the time to produce it/them, just let me know and I'd be glad to try to create something. I've done a few others for different pieces of software that they didn't bother to use, and I always did want to help, and I know that graphic design (unlike programming or technical documentation) is something I can do.

Dock-Based Menu - Web Problems...
Just downloaded the 1.49 release - this is looking really good! However, for some reason, in the dock, I seem to have to select WEB -> FRIENDS VIEW twice before it actually works...

The first time, it acts like I didnt do anything.
But the second thime, it cracks open my friends page in Mozilla like a charm...

Any ideas? Just wanted to let you know, and thanks you for this program. :)
