iproblem

hi, newbi here. i just upgraded to osX and downloaded ijournal. three times.

the icon stays on my desktop. i try to put it in my applications folder but it just creates an alias (and it doesn't let me trash the alias either). worse, when i restart my computer it completely dissapears and i have to reinstall from the .dmg file.

any suggestions?

Force copy
hold down the Option key when you drag the program from the mounted dmg to the Applications folder. OSX should be copying the file by default, but just in case it's not holding the option key down will force it to do so.

Re: Force copy
this was OS X trying to be helpful. when you drag an app from another volume to your apps folder, it puts in an alias instead of copying a potentially large application to your main volume. it thinks of disk images as being new volumes. score another one for OS X's sometimes inconsistent behavior!
