Apple on Safari

Impink has a new browser to debug - Apple just released the Public Beta of Safari, the new browser they'll be bundling with Macs from now on.

The FG site looks pretty good in Safari - I hadn't seen the 'favicon' before... there does seem to be some misalignment up at the top of the page, but it's otherwise completely clear and usable.

I only know about favicons because as a webdesigner of sorts my site keeps getting requests for favicon.ico, so I looked into it and found out that Intel PC versions of Internet Explorer use it to customize their favorites page... assuming it's the same thing.

Mozilla uses it too, as do other browsers. It's pretty much been adopted as a standard. Pity the icons aren't in a more reasonable format than the windows icon format, though.

Another thing I like about Safari is when I look at my friends page and go off to look at comments for one about 20 down or so, when I go back, it puts me back where I was - this beats IE.
