I have 'check friends' set to show in the dock icon, and whenever friends post a new entry, a wonderful little sticker shows up on the icon, notifying me that my friends page has been updated. (It also shows up on the status bar, even though I don't have that option checked... :\)

My question: is it just me, or does that sticker change color between light blue and dark purple? If it does (and it's not just my pathetic imagination), what's the difference?

Also, is there a way to set it so that a sound will play when the friends page is updated?
