please please PLEASE can someone get rid of or change the key combination for "login" from command-shift-L to something else? this has got to be the second time in the past week i've lost a really long post by intending to put a link in and accidentially hitting shift at the same time. unless the program could be modified to have a cancel button on the login sheet, so people wouldn't be stuck with the options of logging in (and losing their post) and quitting (and losing their post)?

or if someone could just point me at what file to edit with interface builder i could do it to just my own, heh...

This annoys me
Who are these damn XJournal trolls that seem to live on this community?

We are trying to produce a good product here and we keep having to put up with these people trickling in and trying to cause a general disruption for no apparent reason.

I certainly hope that the same thing doesn't happen on their boards.

As far as that change goes, if you open the "MainMenu.nib" file in Interface Builder, you can change the key combination used for login right there.

That should be sufficient for the change to take effect. I don't _think_ that there are any other bindings, anywhere.

Good idea. Why do we need a key combo for an action that logs one out and erases the entry? Actually.. why is there any entry-erasing going on at all? Very unfriendly. Why can't iJournal simply save the partial entry under the user that was logged in, and replace it the next time which said user logs into iJournal again? Isn't this obvious, or is it just me?

There are many ways to solve this problem and most of them are trivial. I think that the real problems are noticing that this is a problem and then deciding which approach should be taken to change it.

If sf.net was being a little more responsive right now, I could commit my current stuff and get working on that. It would be easy to do and, as this problem has illustrated, the UI is working against the user with respect to this.

I suppose that your suggestion of just restoring the state to what that user had is probably best and then only clear it after a successful submission (which is already a preference).

I would like to second a request for an option other than Login or Quit on that sheet. I have dialup and would love to use iJournal, except that it requires me to login to LJ to use it. It would be beautiful if there were a Work Offline option. Thanks much!
