another annoying feature request

If there is unsubmitted text in the entry window, and you tell iJournal to quit, a little "are you sure?" dialog box would be really nice.

(I keep getting a little over happy on the command-Q when I haven't actually submitted my most recent entry yet. Feh.)

This is a built-in feature on Xjournal

Xjournal looked very cool; however, every time I tried to run it on my computer it crashed.

You may have tried a very early version and never deleted the pref file. Go into your pref folder and delete com.xjournal.plist and com.spiers.org.plist (and/or any varient of those two, as i don't have the older file name still on this computer). I would also go into your application support folder and delete the xjournal folder.

Then download the newest version ( I think it requires you have x 10.2.x or newer )

This was three days ago, only one install, on a machine running the latest public release of os X. Perhaps it just doesn't play with some of my other software; I'm not interested in investing more hours trying to make it work when it is hardly mission-critical software. *shrug*

XJournal doesn't log onto LJ clones, so it's a no go for some of us.

Need a new release
Hmm, the version currently in CVS saves any un-posted content when you quit (as well as periodically, if you ask it to) so I guess someone should make a new release soon.

Re: Need a new release
Actually, it doesn't save when you quit unless you tell it to, either.

In any case, it only prompts you about unsaved changes if you close the window, not if you quit, which is definitely the wrong behavior.

Re: Need a new release
I wasn't referring to the prompt, but I know what you are talking about. I didn't notice that behavior but it should be fixed. I am currently working on some other parts of the project and won't be able to fix this for a while, though.

I was referring to the periodic saving of the contents.

Re: Need a new release
Works for me.. I was able to grab the CVS version and use Project Builder to make it. The auto save function works as advertised. (Yay - no more lost posts because of software updates!)

auto-save, as well
Often I spend a while on writing a journal entry, and I've lost a few due to a command-Q or a unrelated crash. I'm using v1.52 and I would appreciate an auto-save feature where iJournal would load any unsubmitted text into the journal window on startup.

I've seen some discussion here on a History feature, but I don't see it in v1.52 so I'm assuming that's in a development version.
